Welcome to our new website, we hope you are impressed by its content and information regarding our club.

The club was established in 1951 by angling members of the Post Office workforce in Colchester Essex. It subsequently became Postal and Telecom when the Post Office Telephones broke away and became British Telecom in 1986 and we have used this title ever since.

The Club is run by a committee of 12. There are also 4 trustees for legal reasons.

We are a very friendly club of approximately 300 members. Full membership is available to Postal and Telecom Staff and also associate membership is available to members of the general public.

The club is very fortunate to have access to 5 water’s, Ex Gravel Pits and Reservoirs, which the club rent from landowners and also a half-mile stretch of the River Stour at Wiston near Nayland in Suffolk.

All our waters are multi species with a good stock of fish in all of them. Our largest water at Wivenhoe has carp up to approximately 50lbs in weight.

We are also fortunate to have water, which the club owns, at Ardleigh which has some very interesting fish and a very pleasant setting.

General Membership fees are £75 plus a £10 admin fee initially. There are concessions for OAP’s and members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services.

There are also other options available for night fishing for which an additional annual charge is made. This is limited to 150 persons per season, so first come first served for this.

Please feel free to visit all parts of the site and look at the numerous photographs of our waters.

Normally, we hold enrolment nights in March and April each year at the start of the new season. So look out for notification of these occasions, towards the end of each season.

Member’s children under the age of 17 years can become junior members of the club at nil cost.

They have to be registered with the club for insurance purposes. On reaching 17 years of age they can join as associate members, with out having to be on a waiting list

Happy Browsing and Tight Lines.
